Tears of joy as Louise and Lee tie the knot in sun kissed Drumquin
Tears of happiness were flowing during the gorgeous summer wedding of Louise Young and Lee Dennison.
Indeed the beautiful bride recalled crying with joy and emotion when her father, Steven saw her in her crystal white gown for the first time, while the groom had tears in his eyes as Louise walked up the aisle.
The pair were wed at Lower Langfield Church, Drumquin in a ceremony performed by Reverend Robert Keogh on July 7, 2018. Their wedding reception took place at the Villa Rose Hotel and Spa, Ballybofey located in the vibrant county of Donegal.
It was chosen by the pair due to its modern and elegant surroundings, and friendly service. Louise, who is a level two beauty student from Omagh, first met Lee, an electrician from Drumquin, in a bar through a friend in 2006.
She recalls that it was Lee’s ‘eyes and cheeky sense of humour’ that she fell for, and the pair began going out with each other in 2011. Together for three years, it was on Christmas morning in 2014 that the Drumquin man proposed in magical fashion.
As the pair’s two girls, Brooklyn and Caseylee were opening their Christmas presents, Lee reached underneath the decorated tree to find Louise’s gift and presented it to her while down on one knee.
“I was very emotional and in shock,” Louise reflected. “I couldn’t believe it, and actually told him to get up!”
Louise’s white gold ring was littered with diamonds, and while she loved it dearly, she explained that it didn’t quite fit her properly as she had given birth just three weeks beforehand.
Come the dawn of the New Year, the couple began planning for their traditional wedding day – a task that was made all-the-more easy with Pinterest providing a wealth of ideas and inspiration. For the bride-to-be, her experience of wedding dress shopping was ‘good’, but at times, a bit overwhelming.
However at boutique number three, Lily Boutique, Castlederg, Louise found her dream dress – a white and backless gown which had a feminine fishtail design. “It had all three of the elements that I was looking for in a dress,” Louise said. “I wanted something that was beautifully fitted, with an open back design, all complimented by a long train.”
When the morning of her wedding day arrived, Louise recalled feeling ‘surprisingly calm’… Up until her father, Steven saw her for the first time in her gown. “Then the tears came,” Louise described. “It was a very emotional moment.”
The July sun shone as Louise was whisked away to the chapel in a classy wedding car. In fact, the weather was so good that the Omagh beauty student said she ‘couldn’t have asked for better’. She added, “When I arrived at the church, I felt fine and not too emotional. “Then I began walking up the aisle, I saw Lee turn around with tears in his eyes.”
After enjoying a ‘great service’ in front of a friendly congregation, it was soon time for the new Mr and Mrs Dennison to enjoy their four-tier wedding cake and dance the night away. “Our wedding day was fantastic from start-to-finish,” the 29-year-old concluded. “It was one of the best days of my life.”
